Fresh Live Feather Moss – Green and Versatile
Rated 4.90 out of 5From: £6.00We pick our feather moss in small batches from our local private working forests. At these locations the moss can be destroyed due to the forestry operations, so we find a new life for it. This is a beautiful moss with feather-shaped strands that will grow beautifully in your terrarium or vivarium.
Your feather moss may be one or more of a few different species which all commonly grow together or in similar conditions:
- Glittering Wood Moss (Hylocomium splendens)
- Common Tamarisk Moss (Thuidium tamariscinum)
- Common Hook Moss (Cratoneium commutatum)
This moss is also often known as fern moss, silky forklet moss, glittering wood moss or stairstep moss.
To keep your moss happy it will enjoy lots of humidity but it isn’t too fussed about a lot of light. It will fare well in light, but shouldn’t be exposed to prolonged periods of direct sunlight.
