    At Highland Moss, our indie business is deeply committed to sustainability. We focus on reducing waste, reusing, and recycling as much as possible. In an industry where many people expect only ‘perfect plants,’ selling those with minor imperfections has become a significant challenge. However, instead of letting these ‘wonky plants’ go to waste, we’ve found meaningful ways to save them. We’ve started donating imperfect plants to local community centres, schools, and non-profit organizations. Additionally, we’ve created our Rescue and Imperfect Plant Boxes, offering them to our wonderful customers who are eager to care for these unique, less-than-perfect plants.

    What Are Plant Rescue and Imperfect Plant Boxes?

    Plant Rescue Box: Our Plant Rescue Boxes are filled with plants that have faced a few challenges in their life cycle. These plants may have heavier damaged leaves, chopped tops, discoloured leaves, sunburn, or an overall imperfect look. Some may have even experienced past pest or fungal damage. Despite these imperfections, they are still full of potential. Offered at a 40-60% discount, these plants need some more TLC to flourish once again.

    Imperfect Plant Box: The Imperfect Plant Box is ideal for those looking for plants with cosmetic issues but generally in better condition than those in the rescue boxes. These plants may have slight leaf damage, mild discolouration, or other minor flaws from their journey. However, they are still healthy and ready to grow. These plants are offered at a 20-30% discount.

    Imperfect Plant Box RARE & UNUSUAL: This Imperfect Plant Box is perfect for those looking for rare and unusual plants that may have minor cosmetic flaws. These plants might display slight leaf damage, mild discolouration, or other small imperfections from their journey, but they are still healthy and ready to thrive. With a 20-30% discount, it’s an excellent opportunity to expand your collection at a lower cost. In this bundle, you can find plants like Monstera Albo, Monstera Thai Constellation, Piper Crocatum, Monstera Obliqua, along with more unusual varieties of Alocasia, Begonia, Philodendron, Epipremnum, and Scindapsus.     Selaginella lepidophylla, commonly known as a Rose of Jericho, Desert Rose or Resurrection Plant is an intriguing plant native to the desert regions of Central America and the Middle East. Unlike other plants, the Rose of Jericho has developed an incredible ability to survive in the most unfriendly of environments.

    At the core of the Rose of Jericho is an extremely resistant plant that can completely desiccate during prolonged droughts, curling its branches inward and becoming a seemingly lifeless ball of twigs. Yet, once the environment changes and the plant gets access to water, it miraculously “resurrects,” unfolding and turning green within hours. This extraordinary cycle can be repeated over many years, symbolizing renewal, ability to adaptation and persistence.

    The Rose of Jericho’s ability to rise from the state of the dead has made it a symbol of hope and rebirth across various cultures. In Christian tradition, it is associated with the resurrection of Christ, hence the name. In folk magic, it’s believed to bring peace, power, and protection from bad spells into a home.

    The plant will be sent in a dry state in a box with instructions. Will make a perfect Christmas or birthday gift for any plant lover! After ressureting the plant will have approximately 20-25cm dimension. Rose or Jericho can be used as an educational tool for children to explain plants’ ability to adapt to changes.
