This lightweight material can retain a large amount of water because of its hydrophilic properties. When watered, the small golden pieces of vermiculite expand and hold moisture, gradually releasing it back into the soil even days after watering.

String of pearls Variegated Senecio rowleyanus is a lovely flowering plant native to southwest Africa from Asteraceae family. In the natural environment, the plant will trail on the ground and root as soon as the stem touches the soil. The plant is easy to care and has a beautiful variegation.
Senecio plants are succulents and will be send in dry soil if possible. This is the safest way of delivering plants (especially during the winter) which prevents roots rot of their fragile roots. The plants can be watered when arrives if necessary. Please avoid repotting the plant just after receiving to give it time to recover from the transport stress.
This easy-to-care houseplant thriving neglected but requires lots of bright light, during the winter when there are less than 5-8 hours of light a day you may consider using artificial, growth light. Water only when the soil dries out, the plant is very sensitive to overwatering.
Please note if purchasing unrooted cuttings, please propagate in moss, soil or water in a warm and sunny spot. The cutting will be taken from our mother plant and send in sphagnum moss. It’s customer responsibility to propagate the plant and due to nature of the plants not every single cutting may be propagated successfully due to many internal and external reasons.
