Our website also has an article on how to make a terrarium with step-by-step instructions, helpful advice, and answers to frequently asked questions to help you get started.

How should I maintain the humidity levels within this terrarium?
The cork lid of the terrarium helps to preserve moisture effectively. For optimal humidity, lightly mist the interior with water using a mister every few days, depending on the moisture needs of your plants or moss.
Is this terrarium suitable for growing all types of plants?
This container is ideal for mosses, Marimo moss balls, and other humidity-loving plants. It’s also great for propagating cuttings. However, it may not be suitable for plants requiring dry conditions or significant airflow.
Can I use tap water to mist the plants in the terrarium?
It’s best to use distilled or rainwater to mist your plants, as tap water can contain minerals that might build up on the glass and potentially harm sensitive plants like mosses and Marimos.

Are these glass jars inert? (Not including the cork lid) I’m looking to use them inside my large aquarium without the lids but I’d also like to know if the glass is smooth? I noticed the part saying about air bubbles and just wondered if this effects how smooth to the touch the glass turns out to be ? Natalie asked on March 17, 2025

Hello! Thank you for your question.

These are glass jars, but we haven’t tested them for long-term use underwater, so we can’t guarantee their suitability for an aquarium. They are made from eco glass, which is produced using more sustainable methods and may have natural air bubbles as a result. However, the glass itself is smooth to the touch and clear. Many of our customers use these jars for terrariums, and we’ve never received any complaints about them not being clear enough.

Let us know if you have any other questions!
