Looking for fresh live sphagnum moss in the UK? Our Scottish sphagnum moss is full of life and ideal for baskets, propagation, reptile setups, and plant care.
This component grade moss is supplied in its natural, unprocessed state. Expect a mix of green, pink, and brown tones, along with small woodland elements like twigs and pine needles. A more natural and cost-effective option for everyday use.
A 15 litre bag, around 5kg, will make approximately 12 to 15 8-inch wreaths.

We handpick our gorgeous Sphagnum moss from our exclusive sites in the North of Scotland. In these locations there are forestry operations, so we carefully pick our moss before these areas are disturbed by the machinery.
We also spread our picking around our sites so as not to overpick any specific area.
We have Sphagnum moss in either our ‘classic’ green/brown or natural stunning pink varieties.
- Make your own moss pole, we recommend about 250g per 30cm of pole you want to make.
- Use in your substrate mixes – for example, mix it with sand to make the perfect carnivorous plant soil.
- Use as a layer in your terrarium as a natural alternative to mesh above the drainage layer.
- Ideal for propagation – especially ‘string’ plants like string of hearts, string of pearls etc

Please note that as this is natural moss there will be some variances in colour.
The moss looks wonderful when paired with one of our green or pink moss poles.

A natural moss mulch made from lower grade live carpet moss and forest substrate, ideal for creating a moisture-retaining base layer for moss gardens, shaded borders, hanging baskets, planters and outdoor moss projects.
This is not premium display moss. It contains imperfect moss, forest floor material, soil, bark, grass, dry patches and other natural elements from the harvesting process. It is best used as a substrate layer, recovery moss, garden mulch, hanging basket liner or base material for projects where appearance is not the main focus.
Each bag weighs approximately 10kg and is packed loose in a green garden sack.
