Take a Pot, Leave a Pot: Eco-Friendly Plant Pot Reuse Scheme in Aberdeen, Scotland
Free Plant Pots at Highland Moss
At Highland Moss in Aberdeen, we’ve launched a simple and sustainable initiative to help reduce plastic waste while supporting our local plant community. Our Take a Pot, Leave a Pot box is open to everyone. Whether you’re repotting houseplants, starting seedlings, or just decluttering your shed, you can take any pots you need and leave behind the ones you no longer use. From small nursery pots to ceramic planters, everything in the box is free and ready for a second life.

A Sustainable Community Project in Aberdeen
The idea began when we noticed how many pots were left behind after our repotting services and workshops. Rather than throw them away, Craig came up with the idea to offer them to the community.
Since launching the box outside our shop at Highland Moss, 61 Constitution Street, Aberdeen, AB24 5ET, we’ve saved over 120kg of plastic pots from going to landfill in 2024 alone. It’s a small project with a big impact, and we’d love you to get involved. Pop by, reuse what you can, and help us grow a greener future together.
