Astrophytum asterias is a usual species of cactus from the Astrophytum family, native to Texas (USA) and Mexico. Common names include sand dollar cactus, sea urchin cactus, star cactus and living rock as is very slow-growing.  The body of a star cactus is covered with white flockin which protects the cactus from sunburn. This easy-to-care plant is perfect for busy individuals as thrives in neglect.

The plant comes in a stylish, black, tall, planter with a matching dish. The top of the soil is covered with black pebbles to highlight the beautiful white pattern of the cactus.

Description

The plant will thrive in bright spots with around 4-6 hours of direct light a day. Water regularly about once a month during hot summer and much less during colder winter. Avoid overwatering as the plant is prone to root rot.
