Mini Terrarium DIY Kit with Fittonia Nerve Plant

Bring a tiny world to life with our beginner friendly mini terrarium kit, packed inside an eco glass jar with cork lid (approx 12 x 8cm). It’s a lovely wee project for plant lovers, a thoughtful gift, or a calming build you can finish in one sitting.

    What’s inside

    • Eco glass jar with cork lid (approx 12 x 8cm)

    • Live Fittonia (Nerve Plant) in a surprise colour

    • Lush feather moss

    • Clay pebbles (drainage layer)

    • Our handcrafted terrarium soil

    • Cute mini decorations (colour may vary)

    • QR code for step by step build instructions

    • Plastic spade for easy layering

Fittonia is ideal for closed terrariums because it loves humidity, stays compact, and has beautifully patterned leaves. We pair it with feather moss for a soft woodland look inspired by the lush moss style featured at RHS Chelsea 2025. Decoration colours and Fittonia variety may vary, so every mini terrarium is one of a kind.

    Optional add on

    Beginner friendly build
You can build this terrarium by hand, or use the included plastic spade to create clean layers. For extra precision placing moss and decorations, you can add long terrarium tweezers.

    Make it bioactive
You can add 1oz of springtails to create a bioactive ecosystem inside your terrarium. Springtails are tiny clean up crew insects that help break down natural waste and can reduce the chance of mould. For best results, simply mix the springtails into the soil layer while building, then continue the rest of the steps as normal.

  • Large closed terrarium containing a ficus ginseng bonsai and Scottish moss

    Ficus Bonsai Terrarium DIY Kit

    £65.00

Create your own miniature living world with our Ficus Bonsai Terrarium DIY Kit. This complete kit includes a Ficus Bonsai, glass terrarium jar with cork lid, fresh moss, terrarium layers and easy step-by-step instructions, giving you everything you need to build a beautiful closed terrarium at home.

The included springtails help support a healthier bioactive terrarium environment, making this kit ideal for beginners, plant lovers and anyone who wants to build a miniature mossy world.

How your Ficus Bonsai terrarium works: A closed terrarium creates a small humid environment inside the glass. Moisture gently cycles through the container, helping the moss stay fresh and reducing how often you need to water. Some of the containers require little amount of water every 6 months – 2 years. The Ficus Bonsai gives the terrarium structure and height, while the moss creates a soft green landscape around the base of the plant.
