The rich history of macrame, a form of decorative knotting, spans various cultures and eras. From its origins with 13th-century Arabic weavers to its resurgence in Victorian England, where it complemented the era’s fascination with tropical houseplants, macrame has consistently adorned homes with its unique charm. The 1960s and 1970s saw another revival, aligning perfectly with the bohemian and ‘back to the land’ movements, cementing its place as a functional yet artistic home decor choice.
Available in a variety of colours, our macrame hangers are versatile enough to harmonize with home or workplace designs and styles. Each handcrafted piece is designed to fit a standard planter ranging from 10 to 21 cm in diameter. The average length of our flat macrame hangers is 80 cm, with a possible variation of +/-10 cm due to the nature of handmade items. Our Adjustable Macrame Plant Hanger is thoughtfully designed to fit different plant sizes. Measuring approximately 80cm from the top loop to the bottom tassel, it will shorten when accommodating your plant and pot. Adjusting is simple – slide the bottom knot along the cords to snugly fit the rim of your plant pot.
