Persian Shield Strobilanthes Dyerianus in 12cm pot

I would like to introduce Perry. She is a beautiful Strobilanthes dyeriana, Royal Purple or Persian shield native to Myanmar. She has stunning oval shaped leaves with deep purple and silvery foliage. This extraordinary plant is difficult to get and will be a perfect addition to your home.

You will receive one plant in a 12cm nursery pot.

Care Instructions

She will thrive and get intensive colours in a bright indirect light, but in the UK it is good to give her some morning direct sunlight during the summer. Keep the soil constantly moist but not soggy. Put a pot on a tray with pebbles and water to provide suitable humidity. Fertilizer every 2-3 month with a suitable plant food.

If her leaves get droopy she is thirsty. If leaves will lose purple colour that mean she gets either too much or not enough light. Move her to a spot with medium sunlight condition and see if colours will improve within 1-2weeks

Her leaves can grow to up to 21 cm. The name Strobilanthes dyerianus was created from Greek words strobilus and anthos which mean “cone flower”, dyerianous honours a director of the Royal Botanic Gadens of Kew from early 1900s.

Perry is not toxic to pets but may be irritating to skin.
