Macodes Petola is a form of Jawel Orchid with a stunning foliage plant with neon fluorescent veins. This species flowers in autumn-winter with tiny, white flowers. This slow-growing plant is recommended for people who have a little bit of experience with orchids but the glass terrarium makes it much easier to maintain the humidity so if you thinking about adding Jawel Orchids to your collection, this is a perfect first plant!
Please be aware that this is a small plant in 6cm pot. Suitable for terrariums and moss bowls. Match perfectly with our live sphagnum, cushion or sheet moss.
Jawel orchid would enjoy a warm spot in bright indirect light and keep the soil slightly moist all the time. The plant will thrive in higher humidity, terrarium, bathroom or around a humidifier.
If leaves drop it usually means underwatering, water by slowly increasing the amount of water until the leaves will start looking better.
☀️☀️▫️ (Medium)
The Macodes Petola thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight as it can scorch the delicate leaves. A spot near a window with a sheer curtain is ideal to filter the light.
💧💧▫️ (Medium)
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water your Jewel Orchid when the top inch of the soil feels dry to the touch. Use lukewarm water to avoid shocking the plant.
🌡️🌡️🌡️ (Warm)
Macodes Petola prefers a warm environment, ideally between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid draughty areas and sudden temperature changes to protect its delicate structure.
💦💦💦 (High)
This plant loves humidity! A bathroom, a kitchen, or near a humidifier are perfect spots. For those without high humidity areas, regularly misting the plant can also help meet its needs.
Macodes Petola generally doesn’t need frequent repotting. Consider repotting every 2-3 years or when you see roots growing through the drainage holes. Use an orchid-specific potting mix to ensure proper drainage and aeration.
This Jewel Orchid is non-toxic and safe around pets. Enjoy the beauty of your plant without worrying about your furry friends!
Place your Macodes Petola in high humidity areas like kitchens and bathrooms. If those aren’t options, a terrarium can also create a perfect microclimate.
While not specifically known for air-purifying qualities, having plants like the Macodes Petola can contribute to a healthier indoor environment by increasing humidity and adding a bit of nature’s touch.
Beyond its mesmerizing neon fluorescent veins, this Jewel Orchid flowers with delicate white blossoms during the autumn-winter season, adding a touch of elegance to your space.
