Maranta Leuconeura Kerchoveana Prayer Plant
Maranta Leuconeura Kerchoveana is also known as a prayer plant or rabbit foot plant!
Maranta’s were given their name after the famous Italian 16th-century Botanist Bartolomeo Maranta. But they have received the common name “Prayer Plant” after an interesting adaptation they have formed to save energy during the night. Once the light level has dropped and it has become dark the flat leaves of the Maranta fold upwards almost perfectly in half giving it the appearance of praying hands.
Maranta Leuconeura Kerchoveana is also known as a prayer plant or rabbit foot plant!
Leaves fold together at night as hands are closed in prayer. In the morning they unfold and sometimes make a rustling sound. This stunning houseplant doesn’t just look beautiful—it works hard to make the air around it cleaner. The Maranta Leuconeura Kerchoveana is known for its ability to filter out toxins and pollutants, promoting a healthier living environment.
The Rabbit’s Foot Prayer Plant thrives in moderate, indirect sunlight and requires watering when the soil dries out, making it an easy addition to your home or workspace. Its resilience to common houseplant pests means that it’s a worry-free choice for any space.
Easy to care for, air purifying and pet-friendly houseplant which thrives in low-medium light.
