Care Guide

Light:
Ficus Tineke thrives in bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate lower light conditions, the variegation may fade if light is insufficient. Direct sunlight should be avoided, as it can scorch the leaves.

Humidity:
This plant prefers moderate humidity, but it can adapt to typical household humidity levels. In drier conditions, occasional misting will help prevent leaf dryness and improve overall plant health.

Temperature:
Keep Ficus Tineke in a warm environment with temperatures between 18-24°C. Avoid cold drafts, sudden temperature changes, or placement near air conditioning units, as these can cause stress to the plant.

Watering:
Allow the top 2-3 cm of soil to dry out between waterings. Ficus Tineke prefers well-draining soil and does not like to sit in water. Be careful not to overwater, as this can lead to root rot.

Troubleshooting

  1. Drooping Leaves:
This can result from inconsistent watering—either too much or too little. Ensure you are allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings and not keeping the plant overly wet or dry.
  2. Yellowing Leaves:
Overwatering is the most common cause of yellowing leaves. Check the soil moisture levels and reduce the frequency of watering if the soil is staying too damp.
  3. Leaf Drop:
This may occur due to stress from changes in temperature, light, or watering. Ensure the plant is in a stable environment with consistent light and a regular watering routine.
  4. Brown Leaf Edges:
Low humidity or underwatering can cause brown tips or edges on the leaves. Increase humidity by misting the plant and check your watering schedule to avoid dehydration.
  5. Faded Variegation:
If the variegated colours begin to fade, it may be a sign of insufficient light. Move the plant to a brighter spot with indirect sunlight to restore its vibrant colours.

By providing the right balance of light, water, and humidity, your Ficus Elastica Tineke will thrive and remain a stunning addition to your indoor plant collection!
