Build your terrarium up from the bottom
      • 1. DrainageThe base of your terrarium is the drainage layer. this is a reservoir where extra water is safely stored, away from the plant roots.
      • 2. Sphagnum MossWe do love moss, so our twist on a substrate blocker layer is to use sphagnum moss instead of mesh. This acts as a sponge barrier between the drainage layer and soil layer.
      • 3. Soil MixOur own handmade terrarium substrate mix. The perfect blend of components are used to ensure a happy and healthy terrarium. Plus, we mix in activated charcoal so it is ready to use straight from the bag.
      • 4. SpringtailsThese tiny little critters live in the soil and keep it full of nutrition, making your terrarium even easier to maintain. Simply tip the tub into the soil and leave them to it.

“When planning our office move we knew it was key to listen to what our employees wanted from the new space and one thing kept coming up, “plants, plants, plants!” “and not those fake ones!”. As an energy consultancy with a vision to deliver a responsible energy future we knew we wanted to find a supplier that was local and had an ethos that aligned with ours and we found that with Highland Moss! I had met Craig and Pam at a winter market the previous year and knew they offered a wide range of products, from the beautiful moss that Craig speaks so passionately about, to all of their fantastic plants Pam so lovingly tends to.”

Alison Walker, Xodus

When planning our office move we knew it was key to listen to what our employees wanted from the new space and one thing kept coming up, “plants, plants, plants!” “and not those fake ones!”. As an energy consultancy with a vision to deliver a responsible energy future we knew we wanted to find a supplier that was local and had an ethos that aligned with ours and we found that with Highland Moss! I had met Craig and Pam at a winter market the previous year and knew they offered a wide range of products, from the beautiful moss that Craig speaks so passionately about, to all of their fantastic plants Pam so lovingly tends to.

Initially Pam and Craig came to view our office to see the areas we wanted to add greenery to and advise on the lighting levels and what type of plants would thrive in each space. As a bit of a novice when it comes to plants, we absolutely took their direction on this and really valued their expertise! We also paid a visit to their shop on Constitution Street, which is an absolute haven for any plant lover. It was great to see the plants that we’d been discussing and start to visualise how it would all come together. Once we’d received our order, they put together a fantastic portfolio of our plants with care guidelines and best locations for each plant.

With employee wellbeing at the forefront of our minds we are so glad that adding plants to our office really helped to create a space that felt more homely and welcoming, ultimately softening the space making it warm and inviting. We have a multipurpose wellbeing room, which despite not having any natural light, we were able to add plants to thanks to a Grow Light provided by Highland Moss. It not only helps our plants thrive but also those who use the space! We have a dedicated team of green fingered employees who care for our plants and 6 months on this seems to be working well. Thank you, Highland Moss, for all of your guidance and support!

Highland Moss Wholesale Policy and Terms & Conditions

Our wholesale programme is designed to support our partners in spreading the beauty of Highland Moss plants far and wide. By accessing and using our wholesale services, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

To be eligible for a wholesale account, you must be operating as a valid and registered business. We will also accept temporary access for one-off projects, such as a special event. Submission of a completed wholesale application form is required for consideration.

We enforce a minimum order value (MOV) to maintain the efficiency and exclusivity of our wholesale offerings. The MOV will be specified at the time of order and is subject to change based on product availability and seasonal demands.

Wholesale prices are subject to change without prior notice due to fluctuations in market conditions and availability. All prices are quoted in GBP (£) and do not include VAT or shipping fees unless otherwise specified. Payment terms will be agreed upon acceptance into the wholesale program.

Shipping costs are calculated based on the size and weight of the order, as well as the delivery location. We strive to use the most reliable and cost-effective shipping methods to ensure your order arrives on time and in excellent condition.

Wholesale orders are final and cannot be cancelled once production or processing has begun. Any discrepancies or issues with the order must be reported within 24 hours of receipt for perishables (plants and moss) and 7 days for non-perishable items for consideration of returns or adjustments. Returns are accepted only for defective merchandise due to our error.

  • Standard Orders: Orders placed on products from our shop stock will usually be delivered within 2 working days. However, please allow up to a week for delivery in exceptional circumstances.
  • Large/Bespoke Orders: For large or custom orders, please be aware that these may be created to order, with a lead time of up to 4 weeks to fulfill. We will provide an estimated delivery date at the time of order confirmation.

Highland Moss strives to maintain a comprehensive and diverse inventory of plants and products to meet our customers’ needs. However, due to the nature of our business and the varying growth cycles of our plants, certain products may occasionally be unavailable for immediate dispatch and may be listed as available on backorder.

Backorder Policy:

  • Timing and Availability: The availability of backordered products is dependent on specific factors, including the growth cycle of the plant and seasonal availability. Consequently, delivery times for backordered items can vary significantly.
  • Estimated Delivery Times: We understand the importance of planning and inventory management for our wholesale customers. We encourage customers interested in backordered items to contact us directly at contact@highlandmoss.com for the most current information on product availability and estimated delivery times. Our team will provide you with detailed information based on the specific product(s) you wish to order.
  • Order Fulfillment: Orders containing backordered items will be processed and dispatched once all items are available, unless otherwise requested by the customer. Should you need part of your order sooner, please contact us to arrange separate shipments. Please be aware that additional shipping charges may apply.
  • Communication: Highland Moss is committed to keeping our customers informed about the status of their backordered items. We will provide updates regarding product availability and anticipated delivery times as new information becomes available.

To ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and product quality, we require any damages or discrepancies with your order to be reported to Highland Moss within 24 hours of delivery. Please provide detailed information and photographic evidence of the damage to facilitate a swift resolution. This timely reporting is crucial for us to provide the best possible advice and support.

Plant Handling and Acclimatisation
