Preserved moss offers several advantages:

Low maintenance: Unlike living moss, preserved moss requires no care. Does not need water Occasional light dusting, similar to any other item in your home, is all that’s needed.
Soft, Natural, and Delicate: The preserved moss maintains its soft texture and natural appearance, providing an authentic and delicate feel to your projects.
Long-lasting: Preserved moss is designed to last indefinitely, ensuring your creations retain their beauty for years to come.

Another benefit of preserved moss is its lightweight nature, as it contains no water. This makes it easy to work with and suitable for various installations including attaching the moss to walls and frames.

It’s important to note that consistent exposure to bright sunlight may cause the moss to fade over time. Therefore, it’s advisable to keep it away from direct sunlight and sources of heat.

The moss is preserved but still natural, and may contain pine needles, small pieces of wood, or differences in colour.

How should I care for my preserved moss to ensure it lasts as long as possible?: Preserved moss is very low maintenance; it doesn’t require watering or specific humidity levels. To keep it looking fresh, simply dust it lightly from time to time. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight or near heat sources to prevent colour fading.
Can I use this moss in a terrarium with other plants?: Yes, the preserved moss can be used in terrariums as a decorative element alongside other plants. However, since it’s non-living, it doesn’t contribute to the humidity or ecosystem like live moss would.
Is the preserved reindeer moss sustainable and eco-friendly?: Yes, our preserved moss is an eco-friendly option as it’s harvested sustainably and treated to last, reducing the need for frequent replacements. Its preservation process is designed to minimise environmental impact, making it a responsible choice for crafting and decor.

I did not expect the items in my order to be so stunning and utterly joyous! The moss just sprang into verdant glory as soon as I unshackled it from its wax paper and unleashed it in its prepared spot in the miniature Lord of the Rings mood garden 🤪 As I said to the postie, forget snow to eskimos, we are shipping moss to Argyll! Lovely wee selection. The moss pole with cup is brilliantly designed and will make my monstera much happier in a room heated with a log burner and near a radiator. She is already very tolerant and happy but this will hopefully set her up for winter. A daily drench of warmed rainwater on that pole will recreate Amazonia for a plant that in my experience loves heat as long as humidity is good and I’m confident she will take over the world. Please never stop doing extensions!
