Senecio is a lovely flowering plant native to southwest Africa from Asteraceae family. In the natural environment, the plant will trail on the ground and root as soon as the stem touches the soil.
Leaves turn purple under the sun’s stress.
Senecio plants are succulents and will be sent in dry soil if possible. This is the safest way of delivering plants (especially during the winter), preventing rot or their fragile roots. The plants can be watered when they arrive if necessary. Please avoid repotting the plant just after receiving it to give it time to recover from the transport stress.
This easy-to-care houseplant thriving neglected but requires lots of bright light, during the winter when there are less than 5-8 hours of light a day you may consider using artificial, growth light. Water only when the soil dries out, the plant is very sensitive to overwatering.

A1: Water the plant thoroughly only when the soil has completely dried out. Overwatering can cause the leaves to swell and burst, which can be detrimental to the plant’s health. Always check the top inch of the soil for dryness before watering.
Q2: My home doesn’t get a lot of natural light, especially in winter. Will the String of Stars Senecio still be suitable?
A2: This plant thrives in bright light, but it can also do well with artificial growth lights during darker months. Providing 5-8 hours of light a day using a standard LED grow light can help mimic its ideal conditions.
Q3: Is the String of Stars Senecio safe around pets and children?
A3: It’s best to keep this plant out of reach of pets and children as it is not safe for consumption. If ingested, it could potentially cause irritation or more severe health issues, so always place it in a secure, elevated location.

Great website and very communicative with delivery updates. Minor issue with the interface for the aroid plants bundle: I was unable to select both the base and extension pole, so had to add the latter separately.
Really lovely selection of plants photographed beautifully. I had a question before placing my order and used the online contact form. Craig couldn’t have been more helpful with a super quick response which resolved my query completely. My order was delivered on time and the plants and accessories were wrapped so beautifully with thoughtful little extras which made opening everything really special. I even got a ‘wee gift’ with my order and although I was aware from the website that one would be included with my order, it was just another example of a company who really wants to connect with the customers, even though there must be a financial commitment. I found the website full of useful articles and being able to access specific care guides for my purchases has been extremely useful.
The plants are well taken care of and from the few times I’ve bought from them never had any issues with the plants. 10/10 care would definitely recommend buying either only or in person.
