Sansevieria is also known as Snake Plant or Mother-in-Law’s Tongue. This popular and versatile plant is perfect for any home or workplace. This plant is loved for its low maintenance requirements and unique appearance.
Sansevieria plants have long, narrow leaves that grow vertically from the base of the plant. The leaves are also thick and fleshy, which allows them to store water and makes them tolerant to periods of drought.
Sansevieria is an ideal choice for low-light areas, as it can tolerate both bright and low-light conditions. It is also drought-tolerant, meaning it requires very little watering and is an excellent choice for those who may forget to water their plants regularly.
Sansevieria plants have been shown to remove harmful toxins from the air, making them a valuable addition to any indoor space.

Sansevieria has been on the houseplant scene for a long time and for a number of good reasons. Some species of this genus are some of the hardiest and most robust houseplants you can buy. They are the most tolerable to neglect and can seem to survive just about anything that is thrown at them. For beginners or those who wish for greenery in their homes but are not green-fingered, this is the plant for you.
Sanseveria has recently gone through a reclassification change as a result of molecular phylogenetic studies, so since 2017 it has been included in the genus Dracaena which is part of the Asparagaceae family. The original genus of Sansevaria was made up of around 70 different species that widely range from thinner-leafed tropical environment plants to the mega resilient desert dwelling succulent varieties. This highly diverse species is native to a few different regions most notably across Africa and Southern Asia. It is this wide variety of environments that has led Sansevieria to create such wide differences from species to species.
Houseplant Sansevieria is often the hard-leafed species, these incredibly robust succulents can grow up to eight feet tall if well-kept for long enough. But they offer much more than height. Their tight slender nature allows them to have a big presence without being over-imposing and growing widely out of control. This type of Sansevieria is often referred to as a Snake plant or Mother-in-law tongue due to the tongue-like appearance of its leaves and maybe its notably hard-to-kill nature.
These features have helped this plant to become amongst the most popular and frequently bought houseplants. You can put it just about anywhere from the brightest spot to the darkest and this plant will still be happy and growing.

Fantastic service as always from Pam, Craig and the Team! Added bonus to get to meet Angus the new puppy!
Great website and very communicative with delivery updates. Minor issue with the interface for the aroid plants bundle: I was unable to select both the base and extension pole, so had to add the latter separately.
Really lovely selection of plants photographed beautifully. I had a question before placing my order and used the online contact form. Craig couldn’t have been more helpful with a super quick response which resolved my query completely. My order was delivered on time and the plants and accessories were wrapped so beautifully with thoughtful little extras which made opening everything really special. I even got a ‘wee gift’ with my order and although I was aware from the website that one would be included with my order, it was just another example of a company who really wants to connect with the customers, even though there must be a financial commitment. I found the website full of useful articles and being able to access specific care guides for my purchases has been extremely useful.
The plants are well taken care of and from the few times I’ve bought from them never had any issues with the plants. 10/10 care would definitely recommend buying either only or in person.
