Begonia Ferox is an awe-inspiring new-to-the-scene species that has become a prized possession among plant collectors. With its unique and striking appearance, it is no surprise that it has gained popularity so quickly.
This rare species originates from Southwest Guangxi, China, in limestone areas. It was discovered in 2011 along with 5 other species by botanists and was later described and publicized in Botanical Studies by Yam Liu & C.-I Peng in 2013.

Leaves when reaching maturity have black-brown colour and hairy bullae with red tips emerge which look like claws or teeth but are soft to the touch.
Begonia prefers bright, indirect sunlight and should be watered regularly when the soil dries out. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it’s important to allow the soil to dry out before watering again. The Begonia Ferox also benefits from occasional fertilization with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer. It would make also an amazing terrarium plant!
