She would enjoy a warm spot in bright indirect light and be watered when the top of the soil dries out. To keep her super happy use house plant food every month. To prevent crispy edges of leaves maintain humidity by putting the pot on a tray filled with water and clay pebbles. Make sure that the pot does not touch the water. She likes to climb on trees in a natural environment so we advise adding a moss pole to encourage the plant to grow faster and produce bigger leaves. Moss poles help to maintain an adequate level of humidity as well as adding beauty and something to climb on. Mist the plant and moss pole every few days or every day during summertime.
If you have more plants that like higher humidity you can group them together which will create a greenhouse effect and helps prevent crispy edges of leaves. To create a plant which is a little bit bushier you can cut the ends of the trails. Cuttings can be easily propagated in soil, water, clay pebbles or moss.
Scindapsus is toxic to pets.
Q1: How often should I water my Scindapsus Treubii Dark Form?
A1: Water the plant when the top layer of the soil feels dry to the touch, typically every 7-10 days depending on the humidity and temperature of your home. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure the pot has good drainage.
Q2: Can I place my Scindapsus Treubii in a low light area of my home?
A2: Yes, this plant can adapt to low-medium light conditions, but it thrives best in bright, indirect sunlight. Avoid direct sunlight as it may scorch the leaves.
Q3: Is the Scindapsus Treubii suitable for beginners and what are the key care tips?
A3: Absolutely, it’s an easy-care plant that’s great for beginners. Key tips include using a moss pole for support and enhanced growth, maintaining humidity with regular misting, and feeding with houseplant food monthly to keep it thriving.
