    Hoya Krohniana Silver Splash Wax Plant

    The Hoya Krohniana, commonly known as a  Silver Splash or wax plant is a member of the Hoya family, famed for its waxy, succulent-like leaves and delightful clusters of fragrant, star-shaped flowers.     Each Hoya plant is carefully selected from our stock, ensuring that you receive a specimen of exceptional quality.     As a member of the Hoya family, sometimes also called wax plants due to shiny waxy leaves, the plant thrives in bright indirect light. Place it near a window where it can receive plenty of filtered sunlight to ensure its optimal growth and leaf variegation. Hoya can handle also direct morning and after-afternoon sunlight. Water the plant when the soil becomes dry, and be mindful not to overwater as Hoyas prefer well-draining soil.

    One of the highlights of the Hoya is its clusters of delicate, star-shaped flowers that usually emit a sweet fragrance.     If you have an issue with this pest this plant is for you. Probably the most favourite of all carnivorous plants, this one is unmistakable. The opened jaw-like leaves of this plant display bright colours enticing insects closer, as they brush the tiny trigger hairs on the surface of the leaf the jaws snap shut trapping their prey inside. A truly mesmerising plant to watch grow and mature and definitely worth keeping around in the summer to deter insects and other pests. Perfect, natural alternative to yellow sticky traps for flies including fungus gnats!

    Please be aware that Venus flytrap goes into dormancy during the winter. Younger plants may be fine without dormancy for a year or two but older need this to gather energy and be able to survive. It is a natural state when plants save energy during the winter. Symptoms are leaves turning brown and dying and there is no new growth. Some of our plants may go into dormancy triggered by the travel stress not long after you receive them. Unfortunately is a natural part of plant life and we can not skip it. If your plant shows symptoms of dormancy, decrease watering, and move the plant in a colder and darker spot for a few weeks. To wake up plants from the dormancy move into warm and sunny locations and make sure the soil will stay moist all the time.

    Rose of Jericho Resurrection Plant

    Selaginella lepidophylla, commonly known as a Rose of Jericho, Desert Rose or Resurrection Plant is an intriguing plant native to the desert regions of Central America and the Middle East. Unlike other plants, the Rose of Jericho has developed an incredible ability to survive in the most unfriendly of environments.

    At the core of the Rose of Jericho is an extremely resistant plant that can completely desiccate during prolonged droughts, curling its branches inward and becoming a seemingly lifeless ball of twigs. Yet, once the environment changes and the plant gets access to water, it miraculously “resurrects,” unfolding and turning green within hours. This extraordinary cycle can be repeated over many years, symbolizing renewal, ability to adaptation and persistence.

    The Rose of Jericho’s ability to rise from the state of the dead has made it a symbol of hope and rebirth across various cultures. In Christian tradition, it is associated with the resurrection of Christ, hence the name. In folk magic, it’s believed to bring peace, power, and protection from bad spells into a home.

    The plant will be sent in a dry state in a box with instructions. Will make a perfect Christmas or birthday gift for any plant lover!     Plant Rescue Box: These boxes contain plants that have faced some challenges, such as heavy leaf damage, discolouration, chopped tops, sunburn, or previous pest or fungal issues. Despite their imperfections, they still have great potential. Offered at a 25–35% discount, they need extra TLC to flourish again.

    Imperfect Plant Box: This option is for plants with minor cosmetic flaws, like leaf damage or discolouration, but in better condition than the rescue plants. They’re ready to grow, available at a 15–30% discount, depending on the damage.

    Epiphyllum Anguliger Fishbone Zig Zag Cactus

    The Fish Bone Cactus is not your regular cactus. Unlike most cacti that dwell in desert-like environments, this vivid trailing epiphyte (a plant that grows in or on the trunks and limbs of other plants and trees) is native to the tropical evergreen forests of Mexico.

    Found only in these forests high above sea level in warm humid environments.  The official name for this unusual cactus is Disocactus anguliger, some may still know it as Epiphyllum anguliger but after recent molecular research, the plant was reclassified into the cactus genus and family.  It also goes by the common names Fish Bone Cactus, Zig Zag Cactus, and Orchid Cactus. The first two names do a good job of describing the rich green jagged tendrils that burst out of the centre of the plant and hang down towards the ground. But it has been given the name Orchid Cactus because of the stunningly beautiful flower display it can produce.

    Often cactus flowers are very impressive, they take a long time to form and when they do they don’t disappoint and this cactus is no different. Producing a large vivid star-looking flower that blooms with bright neon pink on the outside and a pale creamy white in the centre, it is well worth a quick internet search if you haven’t seen them before. But like most cactus flowers this is a short-lived experience with the flowers lasting a day maybe two at best. You will also need to be patient as the Fish Bone Cactus won’t start producing flowers until it reaches at least three years old.

    Overall this plant is perfect for those who may not have the environment to house a dessert-style cactus but still want to be part of the club. This very forgiving plant can tolerate lower light conditions and a touch of neglect making it a great choice for beginners or those who often forget to water their plants but still want a touch of green in their homes.
