This beautiful plant is native to China, Japan and Korea and is relatively easy to care for. Needs a bright spot and plenty of water during the growing season but in winter you should let the soil dries out.
☀️☀️▫️ (Medium)
The Saxifraga Stolonifera Strawberry Begonia thrives in medium light conditions. It prefers bright, indirect sunlight. Avoid direct sun exposure which might scorch its delicate leaves.
💧💧▫️ (Medium)
This plant likes to stay hydrated. Water it thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry. Reduce watering in winter, letting the soil dry out a bit more between waterings.
🌡️🌡️▫️ (Average)
Strawberry Begonia enjoys average room temperatures of 15-24°C. Keep it away from draughty areas and sudden temperature changes.
💦💦▫️ (Moderate)
A moderate humidity level is ideal. Consider misting the plant occasionally or placing it on a pebble tray to boost the surrounding moisture, especially during dry winter months.
This plant enjoys being slightly root-bound, so repotting every 2-3 years should suffice. Use a well-draining potting mix to promote healthy growth.
The Saxifraga Stolonifera is pet-friendly. It’s non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it a great choice for pet owners.
Place your Strawberry Begonia in a spot with bright, indirect light like near a north or east-facing window. It’s also perfect for well-lit bathrooms or kitchens where humidity tends to be higher.
This plant is known for its ability to purify the air, making it not only a beautiful addition to your home but a functional one too.
Aside from its lush foliage, the Saxifraga Stolonifera produces charming white flowers and shows off lovely red runners that can be propagated easily, making it an ever-spreading bundle of joy.
