Please note, the plant react to movement and touch so when arrives will have all leaves closed, the leaves should open within 24-48h hours and start react to touch soon. The leaves also stay closed at night so please be patient and wait until the plant will adjust.

Mimosa pudica, often called the Sensitive Plant, Touch-Me-Not, or Shy Plant, is known for its unique and playful behaviour—its delicate green leaves instantly fold inwards when touched or shaken. This fast reaction is a natural defence mechanism, making it one of the most interactive houseplants you can grow.

A fast-growing tropical plant, Mimosa pudica produces small, fluffy pink flowers and thrives in warm, bright environments. It’s perfect for a sunny windowsill and can be grown indoors all year round in the UK.

Good to Know:
This plant naturally closes its leaves at night and reopens them in the morning—another fun quirk that makes it feel truly alive! Sensitive Plants can go dormant in winter; keep them warm and reduce watering slightly.

Please Note:
When your plant arrives, its leaves may appear closed or drooping due to transport stress. This is completely normal. Give it 24–48 hours in a warm, bright spot, and it will bounce back. While it’s tempting to touch the leaves often, the plant uses energy each time it reacts, so avoid excessive handling to keep it healthy.

How often should I water the Mimosa pudica?: Keep the soil lightly moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top layer of soil feels dry to the touch, usually every few days depending on the temperature and humidity of your home.
My Sensitive Plant’s leaves are drooping after delivery. What should I do?: This is normal due to transport stress. Place it in a warm, bright spot for 24–48 hours. Avoid touching the leaves frequently during this recovery period to help it stabilize.
Is the Mimosa pudica suitable for beginners and does it require any special care?: Yes, it’s perfect for beginners! It thrives in warm rooms with bright, indirect sunlight. Just ensure you maintain moderate to high humidity and avoid cold drafts. Also, remember that it uses energy to move its leaves, so limit frequent handling to keep it healthy.
