This unusual succulent from the Euphorbiaceae family is native to tropical and subtropical regions of Madagascar. The camouflaged foliage helps the plant to disappear to the bottom of the forest. Unfortunately, this unique plant is threatened by natural habitat degradation and wildfires.
Commonly known as a death plant, dead wood plant, dry stick plant, or Halloween plant.
The plant will thrive in a warm and sunny location and prefer to be watered regularly during the active growing season from March to late September. In winter keep it almost completely dry. This relatively fast-growing succulent can be also placed in moderate shade. It is also important to remember to slowly introduce the plant to full sun after a longer period of living in lower light conditions.

Repot every few years or when you notice that the plant has outgrown its current pot. Use a well-draining potting mix suitable for cacti and succulents to prevent root rot.
Caution is advised as all parts of the Euphorbia Platyclada produce a milky sap that can cause irritation. Keep out of reach of pets and wash hands after handling.
Place your Euphorbia Platyclada in bright rooms like living rooms or kitchens where it can receive ample light. Avoid placing directly next to cold windows in winter.
This unique houseplant not only adds a touch of mystery to your decor with its intriguing ‘dead wood’ appearance but is also known for its ease of care and ability to adapt to various light conditions.
