Important

It’s important to note that when caring for your carnivorous plant, you should only use distilled or rainwater if your tap water is full of chemicals. This is because the plant is sensitive to chemicals and minerals, which can harm its delicate root system.

Please do not add any plant food or fertilizers to your plant. The plant is adapted to nutrient-poor environments, and adding plant food can actually harm the plant. Instead, let your pitcher catch its own food by trapping insects with its sticky leaves or take energy from the sun like other plants.

When repotting your carnivorous plant, it’s important not to use regular plant soil as it may be too rich for the plant. Instead, use a special carnivorous plant soil mix that is free of nutrients and provides the proper drainage the Pinguicula needs.

We make our own premium carnivorous soil mix – find it here

As your carnivorous plant grows, you may notice that the bottom leaves turn brown and die. This is a natural part of the plant’s life cycle, and you shouldn’t worry about it. You can gently remove these if you choose but we prefer not to disturb these plants and let them process naturally.
