This beautiful Calathea Rufibarba (Goeppertia rufibarba) is commonly known as velvet calathea, furry feather plant or wavestar would make a perfect statement plant for a room with low to medium light. This native to Brasil plant is well known for its velvety/fuzzy underleaf in deep mulberry colour.
The plant is also air-purifying and pet-safe!

We have researched this plant using reliable sources and it has been deemed non toxic to pets. However, like anything that isn’t part of the natural diet, it may cause an upset tummy if eaten.

Care Instructions
Calathea LOVES humidity, so give her an environment as nice and humid as possible. Resting in a tray of clay pebbles (we sell those too), regular misting and even a humidifier will help.
The soil should always be moist, water a little bit and frequently, and don’t totally soak her or leave her sitting in a pool of water.
Plant Pro Tip
You will get some crisp edges from time to time and this is to be expected. If you do get crispy edges bump up the humidity.
