We believe happy plants make happy people
From our first moss pole in 2020 to our ever-expanding collection of plants and plant gifts, our business has blossomed as quickly as your indoor gardens. We’re dedicated to providing high-quality products that bring life and joy to your home.
We love what we do and are grateful to our amazing customers for helping make our dream a reality!
products
Whether it’s something we make ourselves or a product from a trusted supplier, we always strive to offer the highest quality possible in everything we sell, from moss poles to terrariums.
We take pride in sourcing products that are beautiful, unique, and practical for your home and garden.
delivery
When ordering plants, we were surprised by the lack of care in packaging from some sellers. That’s why we use only eco-friendly materials to package your orders, ensuring your plants and mosses arrive safely.
We ship via Royal Mail or DPD, offering tracked next-day delivery wherever possible.
customer service
Not everyone is a plant expert, so we’re here to help. Our team is ready to assist you with any questions you might have, whether it’s pre-purchase or post-purchase.
We even offer a free plant hospital—just send a photo of your peperomia or any other plant, and we’ll help diagnose the issue and provide a solution, free of charge!

Noel
Director of cuteness
Noel is our (almost) 10 year old Labrador and by far the most recognisable face of Highland Moss. He welcomes every customer to our shop by bringing the chosen toy of the moment. When out moss picking, he happily delivers empty bags to our team. He loves attention and sleeping at the feet of our guests during workshops.

Introduction:
Hello! I’m Pam. Alongside our amazing team, I help keep all our plants happy and healthy, sharing my experience with customers to solve plant problems and recommend the best plant for any space. Behind the scenes, I also manage our social media, order stock, update the website and occasionally pack orders too! I’m really lucky to work with such a fantastic team who’ve taken on many of the daily tasks, giving me time to focus on other important parts of the business. That said, I still get stuck in with everything – from cleaning the shelves to writing articles. No job is too big or too small!

What’s your favourite houseplant and why?
I love all plants and don’t really have a favourite – it makes me genuinely happy to see them all thriving. But if I had to choose, I’d say my giant Thai Constellation. It takes up half our living room, and sitting under its huge leaves after a long day is just incredibly calming.
How did you get started with houseplants?
I grew up in the countryside, where plants were a big part of everyday life – indoors, outdoors, and in greenhouses. They weren’t just something pretty to have around, they were essential for food and wellbeing. That way of living stuck with me and still shapes my lifestyle today.
What’s one plant care tip you swear by?
Plants have been around far longer than we have and they don’t need much to be happy – just a good spot and a bit of support. When a plant is in the right place, it often thrives with minimal effort. Constantly moving it, overwatering, or using lots of products can do more harm than good. Sometimes the best thing you can do is just let it be.
What do you do when you’re not surrounded by plants?
I love classic sci-fi series, true crime podcasts, and historical documentaries. And when the sun’s out, there’s nothing better than a long walk or hike with our dog, Noel.
What’s your favourite thing about working here?
I love that we’ve created a space that feels happy – not just for us and the team, but also for everyone who visits. Running a plant shop is hard work and comes with its challenges, but it’s incredibly rewarding, and that keeps me going every day.

What’s your favorite houseplant and why?
I really love the Pilea Moon Valley. I think it has a really cool texture which reminds me of dragon scales.
How did you get started with houseplants?
It is all down to Pam, I have always loved nature but my brain is wired more for tech. But with Pam alongside me, I gained the confidence to learn more about plants and I love learning more and more every day.
What’s one plant care tip you swear by?
Less is more. It is much easier to recover a neglected plant than one that has been picked to bits or drowned with love!
What do you do when you’re not surrounded by plants?
I am pretty much surrounded by plants 24/7! But whenever possible I love to go on road trips or better yet, travel abroad. I have been to lots of odd places from Istanbul to Bosnia to small Caribbean islands – and I can’t wait to discover more of the world someday.
What’s your favorite thing about working here?
I get to work with my wonderful fiance, Pam (and our perfect pooch Noel of course). Plus I love the constant variety, on any day I could be at a market, moss picking in the wilderness, designing new features on the site or crying about tax bills. The mixture keeps my slightly unconventional brain stimulated and it really does feel like we are on this unique adventure together.

How did you get started with houseplants?
I got into houseplants when I bought a couple to decorate and enjoyed caring for them so much that I got more and more!
What’s one plant care tip you swear by?
Preventing pests is far easier and less traumatic than dealing with infestations.
What do you do when you’re not surrounded by plants?
I enjoy watching films and tv shows, sleeping and when i can hiking up hills.
What’s your favorite thing about working here?
My favourite thing to do at work is help Craig with moss picking.

Introduction:
Yo! I’m Lewis. You can find me checking on the plants or chatting with customers. Otherwise I’m in the workshop helping with orders or in the back making up soil. I’m still learning the ropes but I’m always happy to help anyway I can!
What’s your favorite houseplant and why?
I have a soft spot for my maranta leuconeura. It’s got such distinct, bright leaves and beautiful flowers. A lot of personality too as it moves its leaves depending on the time of day!

How did you get started with houseplants?
My mum gave me her dying dieffenbachia when I moved into my own place. Nursing it back to health and watching the new growth felt really rewarding. My maranta was the first houseplant I bought for myself so that’s my baby.
What’s one plant care tip you swear by?
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. You’re not gonna know everything taking care of your first couple plants. Watch your plants closely and be open to learning more, and most importantly, have fun!
What do you do when you’re not surrounded by plants?
I’m always listening to music and play my guitar every day. I love hikes, long walks, exploring and reading.
What’s your favorite thing about working here?
Everyday I learn something new about what I’m passionate about. All the customers are lovely and I really enjoy working with Michael, Pam, Craig, Jemma and especially Noel and his buddies 🙂

Jemma
Assistant
Introduction:
Hi, I’m Jemma. I work part-time at Highland Moss- I do some of the background stuff like mixing soil 😀
What’s your favorite houseplant and why?
My favourite house plant is my Chinese Money Plant (Pilea Peperomioides). My Pilea and because it has survived everything (not an understatement)- multiple moves, being under watered, being overwatered, many pest infestations, being too cold, and being burned. It is a testament to how resilient plants can be, and it holds a special place in my heart as it was my first plant and has been with me through a lot. It may be a bit scraggly looking, but I love it. (Don’t tell my other houseplants- they might get sad.)

How did you get started with houseplants?
I started with houseplants after a friend moved and gave me their Chinese Money Plant. This led to me discovering the world of houseplants, a rabbit hole, many, many plants lost to pests and trial and error. I wouldn’t change it for the world- I wish I had got into houseplants and started to invest in properly cared for plants from shops like Highland Moss and getting help and advice sooner.
What’s one plant care tip you swear by?
Repot your plants when they need it, seasons don’t matter too much, and go easy with the fertiliser, too much leads to issues.
What do you do when you’re not surrounded by plants?
While not surrounded by plants, I try to be a menace to society
What’s your favorite thing about working here?
My favourite thing about working at Highland Moss is Noel… and learning new things about plants, and being a part of a lovely community.
