Maranta Leuconeura Kerchoveana is also known as a prayer plant or rabbit foot plant!
Maranta’s were given their name after the famous Italian 16th-century Botanist Bartolomeo Maranta. But they have received the common name “Prayer Plant” after an interesting adaptation they have formed to save energy during the night. Once the light level has dropped and it has become dark the flat leaves of the Maranta fold upwards almost perfectly in half giving it the appearance of praying hands.
Easy to care for, air purifying and pet-friendly houseplant which thrives in low-medium light.

If you’re looking to bring a tropical rainforest vibe into your home, none do it better than Philodendrons. This striking genus of plant belongs to the Araceae (Arum) family and with an estimated 900 species it is the second-largest species in the family. Easy to care for, air purifying and fast-growing tropical houseplant.
Philodendrons are native to the Americas and found stretching across the continent from north to south. They are almost always found in high-humidity environments, along rivers, in swamps and of course, in their most comfortable environment, tropical rainforests. The species consists of two main types, non-trailing and vining plants which are both popular amongst houseplant lovers for the abundant feeling they create.

The Staghorn fern is a beautiful plant with uniquely shaped fronds that look like a Stag’s horns, hence the name. This plant can be also mounted and grown in moss or draping from a hanging basket.
Staghorn Ferns are epiphytic or lithophytic but not a parasite.
This plant loves high humidity and will thrive in shaded to medium-light spots. Water when the soil slightly dries out (top half of the pot) and don’t keep the soil dry for too long time.
Epiphytes are plants that grow on another plant and use it as a host to receive nutrients and moisture.
Lithophytes are plants that grow on rocks, cliff faces and edges of stone formations and do not need soil to thrive.

While some of these species are relatively easy to take care of, we would class Maranta’s at the intermediate level of care as they can be a bit fussier than most. They would prefer you to provide a growing environment similar to their native environment, ideally, these plants would perform best in a greenhouse. But you can still help them to thrive whilst keeping them in your home.
