As a member of the Hoya family, sometimes also called wax plants due to its shiny waxy leaves. Place it near a window where it can receive plenty of filtered sunlight to ensure its optimal growth and leaf variegation. The plant can handle also direct morning and after-afternoon sunlight. Water the plant when the soil becomes dry, and be mindful not to overwater as Hoyas prefer well-draining soil.

While some of these species are relatively easy to take care of, we would class Maranta’s at the intermediate level of care as they can be a bit fussier than most. They would prefer you to provide a growing environment similar to their native environment, ideally, these plants would perform best in a greenhouse. But you can still help them to thrive whilst keeping them in your home.
Maranta’s were given their name after the famous Italian 16th-century Botanist Bartolomeo Maranta. But they have received the common name “Prayer Plant” after an interesting adaptation they have formed to save energy during the night. Once the light level has dropped and it has become dark the flat leaves of the Maranta fold upwards almost perfectly in half giving it the appearance of praying hands.

I want to introduce Monstera Siltepecanai, a beautiful variation of Monstera. This fast-growing plant is easy to look after and looks amazing when hanging or climbing around a moss pole. This plant is growing on a bamboo trellis but can be easily unwrapped and grown as a hanging plant or macrame or basket, as well as wrapped around a moss pole. Monstera is already pretty long and will be also looking nice hanging from a shelving unit.
If you’re looking to bring a tropical rainforest vibe into your home, none do it better than Philodendrons. This striking genus of plant belongs to the Araceae (Arum) family and with an estimated 900 species it is the second-largest species in the family.
Philodendrons are native to the Americas and found stretching across the continent from north to south. They are almost always found in high-humidity environments, along rivers, in swamps and of course, in their most comfortable environment, tropical rainforests. The species consists of two main types, non-trailing and vining plants which are both popular amongst houseplant lovers for the abundant feeling they create.
Philodendrons, which literally translates from Greek into ‘love trees’, will match wonderfully with one of our moss poles.
