Blue is a beautiful variety of Epipremnum pinnatum with shiny silvery leaves with a hint of blue. The plant loves to climb on moss poles!
You will receive three unrooted cuttings without a leaf ”wet stick”. This part of the stem with the node will be ready to propagate in moss. The wet stick will be picked randomly, minimum size 1cm.
How to propagate in moss:
- Prepare a container with sphagnum moss, moist but not wet.
- Put the wet stick on the top.
- Cover the container with a lid or cling film.
- Keep in a warm spot and make sure the moss won’t dry out.
- Avoid direct sunlight.
- When the node will have 1-2 roots around 1-2cm each will be ready to transfer into the different growing mediums. Epipremnum can be also permanently grown in moss!
Other pictures show how mature plant will looks like.
How to look after Blue
Blue would enjoy a warm spot in bright indirect light and to be watered when the top of the soil dries out. To keep him super happy use house plant food every month. To prevent crispy edges of leaves maintain humidity by putting the pot on a tray filled with water and clay pebbles. Make sure that the pot does not touch the water.
He likes to climb on trees in a natural environment so we advise adding a moss pole to encourage the plant to grow faster and produce bigger leaves. Moss poles help to maintain an adequate level of humidity as well as adding beauty and something to climb on. Mist the plant and moss pole every few days or every day during summertime.
Plant Pro Tips
If you have more plants which like higher humidity you can group them together which will create a greenhouse effect and helps prevent crispy edges of leaves.
To create a plant which is little bit bushier you can cut the ends of the trails.
Cuttings can be easily propagated in water, soil or water.
Blue is toxic to pets.
