If you don’t already have a container ready, choose from our handpicked selection. If you want to make use plant likes cacti or succulents, we advise you choose an open container. If you want a nice humid environment for tropical plants, you can choose either – but a closed terrarium makes it easier to keep the humidity levels high.
Get the base layers of your terrarium right and you are off to a good start. This begins with drainage, then we add some live Sphagnum moss on top, followed by our terrarium soil mix and finally add some springtails who will be your maintenance crew. Sorted!
You have your container, and have added all your base layers. So now we build! Add plants, moss, decorations and isopods to create anything you can imagine.
Simply tip them into your terrarium and they will munch on any decay or mould, keeping it tidy and fresh!
