Make your own self-sustaining bio-active terrarium.
Come and join us for our Terrarium Workshop where you will learn how to create a stunning bio-active terrarium!
A bioactive terrarium is a self-sustaining ecosystem that includes living organisms like springtails. These tiny arthropods are beneficial to a bio-active terrarium because they help break down waste and provide natural nutrients for plants. They also play a critical role in nutrient cycling, releasing nutrients from decaying matter back into the soil.
Our knowledgeable instructor, Pamela, will guide you through the process and provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to create a beautiful and healthy bioactive terrarium. This is a perfect opportunity to spend a creative and enjoyable time with other plant enthusiasts while learning about the fascinating world of miniature ecosystems. Don’t miss out on this unique experience!
At our workshop, you will learn a little bit about terrarium history, learn about fundamentals of making a self-sustaining ecosystem, create your own terrarium and will be provided aftercare instructions to keep your mini ecosystem healthy and thriving.
The price includes a glass container with a cork lid, a variety of fresh plants, Highland moss handpicked moss, a wee container of springtails and everything else you need to create this beautiful self-containing terrarium which you will be able to enjoy creating and taking home.

Marimo Moss Balls are actually a special formation of algae which has formed from the gentle motion of water in the loch.
They are much loved for their extreme ease of care and irresistable cuteness! Make up your own jar with your choice of decorations here

Moss must be the most sorely misunderstood plant out there. For so long we have been power blasting it off roofs or chemically massacring it from the lawn.
But why? Moss is incredible at cleaning the air, beautiful to look at and low maintenace.
Nothing elevates the way you present your plant like a beautiful planter.
We have a range of planters, baskets, macramé and more to show off your plants in their new happy home.
This is why we have created our own range of special soil mixes. Each one is blended to give your plant the perfect drainage and nutrients as suited to its needs.
Ready to up your game even more? We also have a range of soil mix components plus springtails that will maintain your soil for you.
If you need some help repotting your plant, book in a repotting session where we will give your plant a health check, then repot it one of our premium soil mixes. If you order an accompanying moss pole, we will install it for you too!
Or join us in our shop for an after hours workshop. Make a Japanese style kokedama, a stunning bio active terrarium and more with us. Our workshops are a relaxed and happy space where we provide everything you need including a vibrant variety of plants and fresh mosses as well as a lovely aftercare guide.
